Beta · built inside a working studio

Run the whole show from one rundown.

Backtime is the rundown, the script and the teleprompter for teams putting on a live show — newsrooms, podcasts, broadcasts. Everyone watching sees the same page update in real time, from the control room to the studio floor.

Invite-only while we're in beta — request access and we'll get your team set up.

Why I built this

Big-network tools, without the big-network budget.

I spent the last 20 years in broadcast television — inside newsrooms and studios that had real money behind them: serious rundown software, real teleprompter hardware, a whole system built for putting on a live show under pressure. It's genuinely excellent tooling. It's also priced, licensed and built for organizations with broadcast budgets and an IT department to run it.

Backtime is my attempt to bring that same caliber of software to everyone who doesn't have that budget — podcasts, live events, local newsrooms, small studios. The same rundown-to-teleprompter workflow the majors rely on, built for a team paying for it out of pocket, not a network.

What's actually in it

Everything for show day, none of the stitching-together.

One rundown, live for everyone

Reorder segments, adjust timing, add a story — the whole team sees it change instantly. No refreshing, no "did you get my message."

Teleprompter, built in

Open any story straight into a full teleprompter, mirrored to a second screen for talent, with adjustable speed and text size.

A clean view for talent

Share a read-only talent link. Whoever's on camera sees the script and the running order — nothing else.

Export with your name on it

One click makes a branded PDF rundown — your logo, your colors — for the crew, the studio, or the client.

Your own locked workspace

Every organization gets an isolated space. Your rundowns, folders and templates never mix with anyone else's.

The room or the time zone

Works the same whether your whole crew is on set or split across cities.

See it in action

Real screens, not a demo reel.

The script lives with the story

Write or edit a segment's script, set duration and crew notes, then lock it once it's ready so it can't change by accident.

The teleprompter is the same script

No separate app, no copy-pasting — the story you wrote in the rundown opens straight into the prompter, mirrored to a second screen.

Invite your crew, set who can edit versus just view, and reset access yourself — no waiting on us.

Who it's for

Built for anyone running a live show off a rundown.

Built on 20 years of broadcast experience — it just isn't only for networks anymore.
